Bethel 28 Concordia 0
The Falcons could not recover from a 21 point second quarter blitz as they dropped a 28-0 decision to #10 Bethel on Saturday. CUW managed only 160 yards of offense against a fast and physical Royal defense that ranks among the nation's best.
A pair of early interceptions were pivotal as CUW struggled to throw the ball against the wind with Bethel stacked against the run. "We ran some poor routes, and made some bad throws," said offensive coordinator Rob Barnhill. You can't afford to get into desperation mode against a team as quick to the ball as Bethel."
Powerful Bethel romped through two more rounds of the NCAA Tourney before losing to Mt. Union in the National Semi-Finals. UW-Whitewater upset Mt. Union for the National Championship.

CUW’s ALLEN NAMED 1st TEAM AFCA ALL AMERICAN
Milwaukee Bay View graduate Wilbur Allen, CUW’s soft-spoken but hard-hitting senior defensive tackle, has been named a 1st Team D. 3 All American by the American Football Coaches Association.
Allen, a two-time All State performer while in high school, has anchored the Concordia defensive line for three years, requiring double team efforts by all of the Falcon opponents during that time.

Concordia 7 Benedictine 0
The Falcon defense, outstanding game- long, held Benedictine on two possessions inside CUW's 10 yard line over the final 3 minutes as Concordia won a share of the IBFC Championship and earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Jeff Gabrielsen's squad, 7-3 overall, dominated statistically but penalties, a missed field goal from close range, and turnovers kept the Eagles in the game.
Concordia's defense held for 4 downs inside their own 10 with just under two minutes remaining, but CUW fumbled the ball right back. Once again the BIG BLUE held, with Dontrell Hall intercepting the 4th down attempt from Concordia's 2 yard line. This marks Concoria's third NCAA appearance in the past five years.

Greenville 44 Concordia 14
Greenville, IL—
Host Greenville handed the Falcons their first conference loss since 2005 this weekend. The upstart Panthers jumped out early with a pair of rushing touchdowns from quarterback Dominic Kegel- from 58 and 5 yards out respectively. The Falcons were able to cap off the first quarter, however, with a touchdown pass from T.J. Pacchioli to Ricardo Levy to cut the deficit in half. A Dominic Kegel touchdown pass was the only score in the second quarter giving the Panthers a 21-7 lead as the turnovers began to mount for CUW.
Going into the game on Saturday the Falcons had outscored opponents 80 to 0 in 3rd quarters. The Falcons started out the third quarter of action in similar fashion thanks to a 98 yard kick off return by Kasiem Duran on the opening play of the quarter to make it a workable 21-14 game. On the next Falcon possession, however, the Panthers returned a CUW fumble 60 yards for a touchdown and the rout was on.
Another Dominic Kegel touchdown pass would give the Panthers a 34-14 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Panthers would continue to score on the homecoming weekend with Dominic Kegel’s third touchdown pass of the game and Kyle Sanniec’s first field goal of the season spurring them toward their third conference win of the season.
The Falcons will have to wait until next week to hopefully clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year plus a spot atop the IBFC. CUW travels to Lisle, IL to take on Benedictine. That game can be heard on CSN with a 12:45 pm

Falcons carry off the Cheese Bowl trophy after beating Lakeland
October 20, 2007 Football
Concordia 35 Lakeland 28
You just had to be there for this incredible roller coaster ride. In a game of monumental twists and turns the Falcons upended Lakeland 35-28 behind a memorable 21 point 4th quarter uprising.
CUW moved to 5-0 in the IBFC while the offensively- talented Muskies fell to 4- 1 after squandering a 20- 7 halftime lead. Lakeland's tremendous receiving corps made things difficult for Concordia all afternoon as quarterback Brad Wilk threw for 256 yards and completed 3 TD aerials in the first half while LC gained their early cushion. All told, LC wideout MacArthur White snared 9 passes for 127 yards against double coverage.
The Falcons ordinarily live with a punishing ground attack and CUW piled up 271 yards of rushing real estate. But the Falcons actually fought back into contention with the pass as TJ Pacchioli completed 17- 28 for 173 yards.
Pacchioli's 13 yard scramble tied the game at 28 with 4:30 to go after a great 4th down catch by Matt Leede kept the drive alive. Then David White's 34 yard run (after Jeremy Carver's huge midfield interception) gave the Falcons the lead at 2:54 of the final quarter.
Still it took a last ditch lunge by defensive back Preston Jezek to knock a potential tying TD pass out of MacArthur White’s grasp in the final minute. Jerome Walker and David White combined for 181 CUW rushing yards while Taylor Siolka caught six of Pacchili’s aerials for 91 yards.

CUW 45 Concordia- Chicago 0
The hosts (3-4) put up a first half battle, staying within 3-0 at the break as CUW was frustrated by a dozen penalty flags. After halftime it was all CUW as four separate 3rd quarter TDs broke RFs will.
Eight separate Falcon rushers accumulated a total of 388 yards on the ground as the TD tally mounted. Jerome Walker led the way with 113 yards on 15 carries. Jeff Gabrielsen’s amazing defense remained unscored on in conference action. CUW has demolished four IBFC foes by an aggregate 189- 0.
Lakeland, also 4-0 in the IBFC, travels to Mequon next Saturday with first place on the line.

Concordia 24 Aurora 0
Both teams went into this one without having given up a single point in NAC conference action. Only CUW stayed that way, pounding out a 24-0 decision over visiting Aurora.
Concordia assumed control early, breaking out to a 14-0 first quarter cushion
on touchdown runs by David White and Jerome Walker.
Jeff Gabrielsen's squad also got a third quarter TD pass from Justin Lewis to Taylor Siolka and a 23 yard field goal from Dan Winsey to round out the afternoon's scoring.
While CUW was grinding out almost 300 yards of ground offense, the Falcon defense put a complete stranglehold on the Spartans, holding them to 43 yards of total offense.
Concordia, 3-0 in the IBFC, travels to Concordia- Chicago next Saturday.

Concordia 50 MacMurray 0
MacMurray has been outscored 203- 8 in four one-sided 2007 losses. CUW (3-2) was wonderfully generous in holding down the score against their undermanned hosts on Saturday, not attempting a second half pass against what became an 11 man defensive line for the Highlanders. Chris Clarke led CUW rushers ith 107 yards on 9 attempts and Dontrell hall returned 4 punts for 108 yards and 1 TD. Dan Winsey added three Falcon field goals. Kyle Stouuf had 5 tackles and a fumble recovery for a Concordia defense that recorded a second straight shutout.
Aurora surprised Greenville 16-0 on Saturday to move to 2-0 in the IBFC and setting up next weekend’s Mequon battle with the Falcons. Jeff Gabrieslen’s squad has outscored a pair of conference foes by a 120- 0 count while Aurora has dominated MacMurray and Greenville by a combined 63-0.
Lakeland is the other undefeated conference team after ousting Benedictine by a 21-7 margin. The Muskies overall record includes losses to UW-Whitewater, UW- Oshkosh, and Carthage. "We have Aurora (next week) and Lakeland (October 20th) at home," offered Gabe. "Our CUW fans will get to see first-hand whether we have what it takes to repeat as IBFC conference champions."

Concordia 70 Eureka 0
Ten separate players scored touchdowns as the Falcons manhandled the Red Devils. CUW totaled an incredible 713 yards of offense with four rushers gaining 60 or more yards and four receivers managing at least 45 yards worth of receptions. It was all but over by halftime with Concordia owning a 35-0 cushion- and then doubling that tally while reserves dotted the field.
The visitors gained 166 yards thru the air but CUW’s defense stiffened when needed. Max McDonald led the defensive charge, totaling 4 separate sacks of Eureka QB Nick Lindsey. Concordia (2-2) will travel to MacMurray next weekend to face the Highlanders who opened conference action on the losing end of a 47- 0 decision to Aurora.

Concordia 32 Wisconsin Lutheran 14
After falling behind early 7-0, the Falcons came back with a vengeance in their non conference finale. Jerome Walker scampered in from 8 yards out early in the second quarter to get CUW within 1 and then holder Tom Roberts turned a botched PAT snap into gold by hitting Travis Pagel with a 2 point conversion pass to give the Falcons a lead they would never relinquish.
Concordia took complete control after halftime. First, Jason McClelland finished off a 9 play drive with a 20 yard scamper tp paydirt- 15-7 CUW with the conversion. Then Ric Levy hauled in a 20 TD aerial in the corner of the end zone four minutes later to up the count to 22-7. Walker scored on another 8 yard burst just before the quarter ended as the Falcons domination continued.
Lutheran countered with a TD of their own in the fourth quarter before kicked a 30 yard field goal for CUW's final tally. Concordia's statistical edge was 409 - 208 with TJ Pacchioli and Nathan Chart combining to hit on 14 of 26 passes for 167 yards. Levy caught 8 of those aerials.

North Central (IL) 28 Concordia 7
It was a case of too much Dominic Sulo Saturday. The star running back for North Central rushed for 171 yards on 32 carries and scored all 4 of his team's touchdowns in a 28- 7 win over the host Falcons.
Sulo had a TD in each of the first two quarters as the visitors opened a 14- 0 halftime cushion. CUW had one score called back and another march thwarted by a goal line interception.
Justin Lewis got CUW on the board early in the 4th quarter to cut the deficit to 21-7 but a subsequent sustained march by the victors sealed the outcome. Jeff Gabrielsen's squad, 0-2 on the preseason, will close out their non conference schedule by hosting WLC next Saturday at 1:00pm.

Simpson (IA) 14 Concordia 3
When your defense allows only 212 yards in a college football game, odds are you will come out on the winning end. That was not the case Saturday as the Falcon offense could put together only 8 first downs and 112 total yards in a 14- 3 season- opening road loss at Simpson (IA).
“We are young and inconsistent, especially on offense,” offered head coach Jeff Gabrielsen. “It’s going to take time. The defense provided opportunities but we just made way too many mistakes.”
The Falcons have been among the nation’s leaders in total offense over the past five seasons but CUW quarterbacks Justin Lewis and TJ Pacchioli completed 10 of 31 aerials for 82 yards and Concordia running backs were collectively held to 30 yards- an average of one yard per carry. A pair of first half Storm TDs that followed Falcon turnovers provided the difference.
Three times during the contest Concordia took over in Simpson territory after Storm mistakes but one made field goal and two misses were all the Falcons could muster from those opportunities. Nick Napoli, Kyle Stouff, and Jason Lawrence led the Falcons defensively with 11 tackles each. CUW hosts North Central next Saturday at 1:00pm in a rematch of NCAA Playoff teams.
