Dominican 3 Concordia 1 (NAC Semi Final)
Dominican advanced to the championship game of the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Men's Soccer Tournament with a 3-1 win over the visiting Falcons on Wednesday. A pair of goals in the match’s first seventeen minutes proved too much for CUW to overcome as Tom Saleska’s booters ended 2007 play with a 12-7-1 record.
Trailing 2-0 at the break, CUW came out with a vengeance after halftime. Zach Jensen scored to pull the Falcons to within one goal in the 47th minute but a late Star tally ended any hope for the upset.
Nationally ranked Dominican improved to 15-3-1 on the season and will host Aurora, a shootout winner over Edgewood, in Saturday’s NCAA qualifier.

Men’s Soccer Advances to Second Round
Brian Nord continued his NCAA-leading pace for Tom Saleska’s squad as he scored three goals in the Falcon’s 4-0 first round victory over Wisconsin Lutheran Monday afternoon. Nord’s first goal came only 9:31 into the match and he added another just four minutes later.

The senior striker's 30th goal of the season came 17 minutes into the second half. “Nord has had a great season,” said Head Coach Tom Saleska. “He has been a go to guy all fall and he came up big in our first game of tournament action.”
David Bringer added the final goal of the afternoon for the Falcons, his second of the season. Defense was also a key for the Falcons as they only allowed 3 shots during the entire game while accumulating 19.
The Falcons move onto the second round of the NAC Tournament and play on Wednesday against #1 Dominican.

What had been a 0-0 hotly contested stalemate for a half quickly disintegrated in the final 45 minutes as UW-O handed the Falcons a second straight shutout defeat.

Three unanswered goals in the first 22 minutes decided this match very early. Edgewood came out with a vengeance and connected on their first 3 shots as CUW fell to 7- 3 in the NAC behind the Eagles' 7-2 mark.
4th seeded Concordia will host 5th seeded WLC next Monday in the first Rd. of the NAC Tournament.

Brian Nord, the Nation's leading point tallier, scored twice as the Falcons sprinted from a 2-2 halftime stalemate to upend WLC 4-2. The crucial win upped CUW's conference mark to 7-2; (11-4-1 overall) while WLC fell to 5-3-1 in the NAC. This will be another important week for CUW as they host arch-rival Edgewood on Tuesday and then travel to UW- O on Friday.

Steve Samuel scored the only goal of the match via a Ryan Folgate assist late in the first half and the Falcons held on for a 1-0 win over MSOE. Tom Anderson came up with 7 saves in posting the shutout.
The crucial victory upped the CUW conference record to 6-2 going into Saturday's home matchup with WLC.

Concordia 3 North Central 2 OT
Brian Nord scored three times, but the golden goal (his 25th this season) did not come until eight minutes into overtime as the Falcons got past upset-minded North Central in Naperville.

“We had over 30 shots on goal and seemed to have complete control of the match but somehow they (the hosts) fought their way back into it”, explained head coach Tom Saleska. CUW upped their overall record to 9-4-1.

Jon Waldhart attacks Maranatha
CUW scored three times in the first eighteen minutes and rolled to an 8-0 whitewashing of the visitng Crusaders on Tuesday. Phil Dziatkiewicz, David Bringer, and Nick Quatsoe all got their first goals of the season as Concordia improved to 8-4-1.

“We never really had anything substantial against a very good opponent,” assessed Tom Saleska. The nationally-ranked Stars got a goal just prior to halftime and kept the Falcons on their heels for the rest of the match. CUW fell to 4-2 in the NAC and 7-4-1 overall with the loss.

It was a Mike Bruckner highlight reel as CUW improved to 7-3-1 overall with a 3-0 victory over host Marian last evening. The Falcons assumed a very comfortable 2-0 margin by halftime as they improved to 4-1 in the NAC with their fourth straight win. Bruckner tallied two goals, one on an assist from Brian Nord, who also scored via a Bruckner pass.

Brian Nord and Trevor Hess each scored four separate times as the Falcons routed listless CU- Chicago 10- 1 on the road Saturday. Nord added a pair of assists to break the all-time school record of 9 points in a match. CUW was already up 8-1 at the half in their most dominating performance of the season.
Mike Bruckner added three assists for Tom Saleska’s (6-3-1) Falcons. Suddenly potent CUW has outscored their most recent three opponents by a 20- 2 margin.

CUW improved to 5-3-1 with a decisive 5-1 conquest of Lakeland last evening. Brad Dent headed in a perfect cross from MIke Bruckner to open the scoring just thirteen minutes into the contest and the flood gates opened quickly. It was 3-1 by halftime and Brian Nord added a pair of second half tallies to his impressive season tally.

Brian Nord scored three times in the first half (as well as hitting the post on three other occasions) as CUW manhandled the Eagles. “Brad Dent really stepped up in the back tonight,” opined Falcon mentor Tom Saleska.
“Injuries have been an issue early on this season and we needed to solidify our defense. Mike Bruckner had the other two Falcon tallies as CUW moved to 4-3-1 on the season and 1-1 in the NAC. Concordia hosts Lakeland on Tuesday at 4:00pm.

CUw came back from an early deficit to take a 2-1 lead, only to see Elmhurst score two late goals and sneak out of town with a 3-2 win. Brian Nord scored both goals for the Falcons but injuries to key defensive performers have taken a toll.

"Aurora controlled the midfield and had the better of play for all but the last ten minutes," rationalized Falcon mentor Tom Saleska. Talented Chase Correcelli scored the game's only goal 18 minutes into the second half as the visitors spoiled CUW's conference home opener.

Saleska's forces had only 4 shots on goal but two of those were excellent chances in the matches' closing moments. CUW (3-2-1) hosts Elmhurst in a non conference match next Wednesday.

The North Park men’s soccer team is ranked #16 in the Nation. The Vikings showed why they are so highly regarded last evening as they handed CUW a 3-1 defeat. North Park (4-1-0) didn’t have a shot on goal in the first half but took the lead ten minutes into the second canto when Tajinder Singh found the back of the net.
The Falcons (3-1-1) nearly tied the game 26 minutes later when Brian Nord’s shot hit the post, but the hosts made it a 2-0 affair when Veiron Larsson scored. CUW retaliated quickly via a Nord blast, but with the Falcons pressing forward for in hopes of a tying goal, North Park got a breakaway score in the game’s final seconds.

Four separate Falcons tallied in a one-sided first half as Concordia stayed unbeaten in non conference action. Brian Nord, Mike Bruckner, Trevor Hess, and James Saleska each found the back of the net early on with Brad Dent and Jon Waldhart recording assists. Saleska had special praise for defenders Zach Jensen and Steve samuel who "controlled the right side for us defensively."

Trailing 1-0 at the break, Concordia found life when a foul in the box allowed Zach Jensen to pound home a penalty kick that tied the score 15 minutes into the second half. Alex Goranson’s tally gave Carroll a 2-1 lead but Mike Bruckner tied the game again with a rebound score.
The golden overtime goal came when Brian Nord redirected Zach Jensen’s setup past a diving Stanislaw Miaskowski. The Falcons (2-0-1) host Beloit at 2:30pm on Saturday.

After tying a talented Calvin side 2-2 on Saturday, Concordia came back on Sunday to vanquish Buena Vista 5-0 on Sunday. Now 1-0-1, the Falcons host Carroll College at 4:00pm on Tuesday in their home opener.
