Benedictine 3 Concordia 0
All good things must come to an end. The Falcon dream volleyball season (which featured an all-time best 23 win total) is over- courtesy of powerful Benedictine. The Eagles (27-6) atoned for an earlier home loss to CUW by winning three straight games and moving to the NAC championship match on Saturday.
Benedictine’s star Kayla Layden put away 17 kills as she outplayed the outstanding Concordia frontline. “We had the BEST season in my years here (10-2 in the NAC and 23-10 overall)… and were outplayed by a very talented team. You never want to be satisfied with something less than first place, but we did take a giant step this fall,” said Falcon coach Joe Cawley.
