Bethel 5 Concordia 2
It looked so easy as Falcon newcomer Jackie Drews, a UW Stevens Point transfer, slapped home the game’s first score less than four minutes into the contest. From that point on, however, CUW was frustrated by outstanding Bethel goaltending as the visitors came away with a 5-2 victory.
“We probably played our best offensive hockey of the season but it did not show on the scoreboard,” said a disappointed coach Jim Ingman. The Pipers and Falcons had played to a 3-3 tie earlier in the season in Minnesota. Concordia outshot Bethel 34-14 but the Falcons remain winless in their inaugural campaign.
